Postnatal Environment

The postnatal room should have a temperature of  at least 25 C which is required to help keep the baby warm. A radiant heater or warmer or any other device for providing warmth is often needed to maintain the appropriate room temperature particularly in winter months.

A baby and her mother should be kept together since the time of birth to increase the bonding between the mother and child .. This helps in lactation and more skin to skin contact .
